Kristen Lackajis • September 19, 2025
September's Plant of the Month is the Miscanthus Sinensis Flamingo - also known as 'eulalia'.

The miscanthus sinensis flamingo is a deciduous grass featuring graceful, elegant, arching green leaves up to 2cm wide, each with a distinct white midrib. In the autumn, the foliage transforms into a beautiful golden orange. Throughout late summer, it produces feathery pink flower plumes that gradually fade to a silvery colour as autumn approaches.
Miscanthus can be grown in any moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full sun. Although it does require protection from the excessive winter wetness.
